A brand new ticket office opened at St Pancras International today (Tuesday 18 October) which will incorporate a more modern, open and accessible design for customers.
The new St Pancras ticket office, operated by East Midlands Trains, is located in the market place of the station by the Pancras Road entrance. It will have a more welcoming feel where customers can quickly access pod desks to speak to a member of East Midlands Trains staff to plan their onward journey across the UK, access tube maps, check train times and ticket prices as well as real-time travel information and connection details on iPads. Extra ticket vending machines and additional seating have also been installed to further enhance the space.
Jake Kelly, Managing Director of East Midlands Trains who opened the new ticketing facilities, said:
“This revamp demonstrates just how committed we are to continually investing in improved technology and the experience our customers receive.
“St Pancras International is an iconic, world-famous station and so it is fitting that our customers can now access a ticket office that is modern, open-plan and as accessible as possible.
“We will continue to invest in ticketing facilities and recognise just how much our customers value both face-to-face interaction and being given the option to use new technology to book tickets or find information.”
Wendy Spinks, Commercial Director of HS1 Ltd, the owners of St Pancras International, said:
“We work closely with all our partners at the station to ensure that we are delivering the best possible experience for our visitors. Customer experience was at the heart of the design process for the new ticket office, the extra ticket vending machines and the additional seats that this project has delivered and we are delighted with the result.
“St Pancras International has been voted the nation’s favourite station each year since it reopened in 2007, but it’s essential that we don’t take that for granted. That’s why we keep investing in improvements like this.”
