International Railway Journal (IRJ) and IRITS Events Ltd are happy to announce the participation of railway investment and management company, Railroad Development Corporation, at International Railway Summit 2016.

Railroad Development Corporation (RDC), headquartered in Pittsburgh, USA, has partnered with management and institutional investors in rail operations in the United States, in several countries in South America and Africa, in Estonia, Germany and France. A number of these operations have now been re-nationalised after successful restructuring by RDC.

RDC’s competitive advantage stems from its ability to structure joint ventures on a case-by-case basis in complex and volatile markets, while minimizing transaction costs and the time necessary for implementation. They have a unique focus on emerging railway markets.

RDC’s current ventures, in conjunction with local and international investors, include: the 592-mile Iowa Interstate Railroad (“IAIS”) comprising regional carrier routes between Chicago and Omaha in the United States; Ferrocarril Central Andino (FCCA), a 332-mile railroad in Peru; Hamburg-Köln-Express (HKX), a 280-mile intercity passenger rail service between Cologne and Hamburg; Ferrocarril del Pacífico (FDP), a 122-mile Pacific coast railroad in Colombia and single car freight operator RégioRail, in France.

RDC will be represented by Hans Leister, General Director, Passenger Services, Europe. Mr Leister has 25 years of experience in the German passenger rail sector, with former management functions for Berlin/Brandenburg federal states and Deutsche Bahn. Mr Leister’s main areas of focus include consolidation of HKX, the development of new projects, and the Autozug Sylt, the vital railway connections of Sylt, an island off northern Germany fully dependent on rail.

Mr Leister will take part in one-to-one consultation meetings with participating technology solution providers as well as in networking functions throughout the summit, which takes place at Palais Hansen Kempinski in Vienna on 17-19 February 2016.

Organisations and individuals interested in learning more about International Railway Summit 2016 and about how they can participate in the event can visit or contact the organisers, International Railway Journal and IRITS Events.
